Doc resigns after his employer charges $11k for a $8 Covid test (2020)
- metalcrow 2y agoThis article leave me confused. Why would it be beneficial, as the author claims, for UnitedHealthcare to pay for a massively overcharged, in fact fraudulent, procedure? If they are "making incredible, towering sums", how does spending it like this help that? It seems like this is strictly negative for the insurers, and them pushing back on it would be closer to the intended way for them to make money. After all, recently their CEO was assassinated specifically because of the company's alleged greed in not paying for procedures.
