Wake up babe, new Bartosz Ciechanowski post dropped
- bbx 2y agoI saw the domain name and thought the same thing. Always an event to see a new post of his.
- MarcelOlsz 2y agoMeredith, clear the rest of my day.
- askvictor 2y agoI was just thinking about him yesterday while browsing HN, wondering when the next post would drop.
- Cthulhu_ 2y agoThere was a post earlier today about mechanical watches, of course this site was linked again.
- funksta 2y agoEasily one of the best sites on the internet, in my opinion
- umvi 2y ago[flagged]
- Cthulhu_ 2y agoVague appeal to authority; I'm hereby asking front end devs to actually have a look and confirm the above.
- micromacrofoot 2y agoit works fine on my machine, wontfix
- n42 2y agothis blog, its author and the work is being idolized everywhere in this thread as artisanal and peak of craft.
- VPenkov 2y agoFrontend dev here. Hats off to Ciechanowski as always. The code is readable and works well, and looks written with love. I wouldn't do it this way, but then again, I wouldn't do this at all. Probably couldn't. This is an example of frontend as a craft. I am confident it was written with a model M keyboard and his home office is referred to as an atelier.
- have_faith 2y agoAre these front end devs in the room with us?
- umvi 2y agoI was more referencing other threads where vanilla js is pooh poohed and looked down upon for some reason
- lobsterthief 2y agoI think it’s because it just requires more architecture and coordination to implement at scale with any real sanity.

- groby_b 2y agoReally, there's nothing but respect for the guy throughout the entire set of threads - maybe take your personal feud with modern front end elsewhere?
- ksec 2y agoIt isn't just React / Non-SPA, even by SSR / HTML standard there are no needless moving graphics, page / section transition. It is simple, accurate and to the point. I like the word people in this thread here to describe it as "artisan". It really is a page of Art. If there is only a few thing I could nitpick. Sections or indicator of how long the article is. The Moon is long... very long. And I understand why he want Image on load just to save bandwidth but personally I hate when image only start to load and appear when I scroll close to it. I hope this will inspire a new generation of people to rethink about Front End.
- insane_dreamer 2y agosour grapes
- andrepd 2y agoEarly Christmas present!
