Show HN: A Directory of 500 HN Side Projects
I loved this recent "Show and Tell" thread about side projects posted on HN: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=42373343 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=42373343
It inspired me to build a mini directory that aggregates over 500 side projects posted to HN since 2017. You can filter by year, category, or revenue level.
Thank you Cursor + Next.js for making this insanely fun to build. Hopefully you discover hidden gems or find inspiration in what the HN community is creating. Happy browsing!

- hyperjeff 2y agoVery nice! though sometimes the recurring revenue figures seem to be questionable (one in particular that raised $250k on Kickstarter, where that's listed as its yearly income, but is it?). Also, does that iOS book series really make $100M/year? Supposing that's right, it's extremely anamolous, and contributes the lion's share to the front page's total revenue figure of $11.75M/month. Perhaps best to keep that data point out? Not sure who could call that level of income a side project. Side note: The website only shows 10 projects per category with no mechanism to see more.
- gwintrob 2y agoThanks. AI tools helped me pull this together in just a couple hours so there are some rough edges. I used gpt-4o structured outputs to get the revenue numbers. That's some good feedback I can use to make the data extraction work better! I'll add some pagination as well.
- dansult 2y agoHow do you see all the entries? Each option only shows ten items with no way to load more.
- mfiro 2y agoThat's awesome! Would it be possible to include the business owner's comments for each listing to make them searchable?
