Curious whether they will open doors automatically. It's a faux pas to try opening a taxi door yourself in Japan.
- brandall10 2y agoAs someone mentioned in a comment up the chain, it's for liability reasons - if a passenger damages something with the door, the driver is on the hook. Seeing how an autonomous vehicle is similarly liable for its impact on the environment it stands to reason this can and will be easily dealt with.
