Is it wrong to say that the sun turns around the Earth?
- ggm 2y agoFrame of reference conversations are great. We're in a great search for objectivity and constantly having to modify absolute statements by .. the contextual information of the frame of reference. Data Flow programming always felt to me like you were a gopro camera on the blob of data moving through the conveyer belt of programming, like the suitcases at the end of toy story 2 Capability based OS, suddenly it shifts to a bubble of what you're allowed to do, as the primary driver of what things being done you engage with. Microkernels, and all that "stuff" which was in kernel for a monolith is suddenly off in discrete bounded processes.. It's mystifying. Don't get me started on Virtual Memory, stack frames, working set. Heaps of frame-of-reference things going off inside a program, all the time, all at once.
