Systemd begrudgingly drops a safety net while a challenger appears

- verdverm 2y agoNot sure how a tool that has been around 21 years that I've never heard of is a challenger. This is such a core system I have a hard time seeing industry at large swap out something for systemd at this point > The main distinctive thing about Shepherd is that it's implemented in GNU Guile If your main differentiation is the language of implementation, especially a non-mainstream one, the task of convincing people to migrate becomes that much more difficult
- sillywalk 2y agoI think it should say systemd adds a safety net, rather than drops one.
