Oh, it worked? Why do you say that? Did you get your universal healthcare?
- toomuchtodo 2y agoThis is a simple question and perspective for a notoriously complex topic and public policy issue, so it is not possible to provide a simple or binary answer. The CEO of UnitedHealth group wrote an op ed in the New York Times publicly stating that the healthcare system is flawed, and there is potential for action based on the potential for further harm being incurred. The alternative was business as usual while the failed system continues to grind the American people into dust. This event was a catalyst for a dialog that is unlikely to have occurred otherwise. I would agree whether actual, positive system change occurs and the second order effects from that outcome are yet to be seen. If these lead to a successful outcome at scale, you could potentially take the view that the CEO who perished lost their life to fix a failing system causing harm to millions, loss of life to tens of thousands, and hundreds of billions of dollars of waste annually. Many of us perish without accomplishing anything near that magnitude. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/unitedhealth-group-leader-ceo-murder-op-ed-health-care-flawed/ https://www.cbsnews.com/news/unitedhealth-group-leader-ceo-m...
