Maybe the title buried the lede a bit.
Some of BuzzFeed’s investigative journalism was genuinely good. Hot Ones was also great. What they’re doing is divesting themselves of this to focus on spewing gen AI listicles solely to act as bait for their own programmatic ad platform.
It’s a definite step down.
