- bryanrasmussen 2y ago>the new technology could cause “extraordinarily damaging consequences for the environment, agriculture, and human well-being.” and I immediately think, but for a brief, beautiful moment can it also cause a lot of shareholder value?
- nonrandomstring 2y agoThat's sad isn't it, that "shareholder value" has come to mean something approximate to "criminal psychopathy". Many of us are "shareholders" of a one kind or another. We would not like people to think of us as monsters. We do not want our children and grandchildren to look back on a tainted legacy, like progeny of slave-owners, and want to disown their family history. And so I wonder, for a brief, beautiful moment, what would happen if in a very coordinated act of repentance, thousands of "shareholders" decided to simultaneously dump their stock. You would think that "shareholders" actually had some sort of power, no? I wonder what digital help could be brought to their assistance? Or are you thinking that all "shareholders" are powerless before their vice? Bonded by blutkitt?
