The article is absurd. If work doesn't have a deadline, creating arbitrary ones for the sake of having a deadline doesn't make the output have higher quality, less risk, etc. It just means you "hit a deadline". Its frustrating even more so when you end up shipping features that a year later you find out were never used, but you "hit the deadline" so its a "success".
