    If the USA does have "Years of lead" then the quantity and quality of firearms (e.g. military grade assault rifles) will make it far worse. "Years of lead" in a political sense I mean. In a more general sense, you already are in "Years of lead".

The bigger problem is this way of thinking is used to justify the vilification of people even to this day. See debates on supporting US election candidates.
