America is not everything either. Yes they have lots of money. But also more inequality, more violent crime, insane healthcare and housing costs and very few holidays. You can be fired from one day to the next without reason or package in many states. Here in Europe it's more about quality of life than money. We also care more about privacy, fairness, the environment.. That's a good thing IMO. Money isn't something I always want more of. There's a point where it's enough. More would be cool but it's not a big deal. But if he likes it better over there, go for it :)
- gibbitz 2y agoA lot of this is outside looking in. From the standpoint of America things like asking questions is about getting something for free in the off chance the person you asked doesn't charge you for it. Often the answer comes for taking on risk for the answerer. The rising tide doesn't exist in America. If you look at the wealth gap you can see some ships floating miles above water level. Typically, there is little room for market growth and personal growth comes through reducing others' market share and taking their revenue. For a country that considers itself Christian and founded on moral strength, our economic system is diametrically opposed to those values.
