Amazon is officially in the online car sales business
- throwaway48476 2y agoThis is much more convoluted than Tesla who will deliver a car to your door.
- hammock 2y agoIt has to be, because Amazon's target (the car seller) here is dealerships, not OEMs. Amazon is creating a service for all those independent OEM-affiliated dealers to move more volume. It's the OEM-dealership ecosystem that's convoluted.
- ssl-3 2y agoHaving read the article: Amazon isn't selling anything here at all; local car dealerships are. In a world where car dealerships are things that are licensed and regulated, that's about as far from being "official" as possible on Amazon's part as possible.
- whynotmaybe 2y agoYes, but : > Consumers may also be won over by Amazon Autos’ promise to provide transparent pricing from local dealers, eliminating the need for negotiation. In other words, no haggling. The price customers see at check-out is the price they pay, inclusive of all taxes and fees, Amazon said.
- htrp 2y agoso they've recreated costcoautos ?
