Show HN: TriviaTower.io the big internet community trivia game experiment
- kaisfans 2y agoAs a big trivia fan and enjoyer of watching the internet come together to collectively play games, I wanted to see if the internet could work together to consecutively correctly answer Trivia questions. Inspired by other community internet games think r/place or wordle TriviaTower was born. I love the idea of building games that the internet can all play at once. The game's rules are simple. - We publish a trivia question every hour. - The community rises to the task of answering correctly (mostly) - If the majority of us can correctly answer the question a block is added to the tower, if not, it collapses. Let me know if you have any feedback or just thoughts on co-operative internet games. Planning to expand on this idea with new features so I am open to your thoughts!
- maalber 2y agoVery cool! I like the simplistic design. Would it make sense to have a short time limit on the answer to avoid people quickly popping over to wikipedia?
- kaisfans 2y agoThanks for playing! Good thought. Anti-cheat would be a good idea but a little tricky to implement without being too frustrating for a legitimate player. Time-limit or authenticated voting restrictions could help, but, I've been following voting patterns over the last couple days since launch and its safe to say users get answers wrong almost as much as they get them right. It seems most people for now are playing fair just on the honour system alone. If it ever gets to the point that tower's are never collapsing or voting patterns seem abnormal I'll re-visit this for sure.
