My best advice: If you enjoy programming then continue programming. Program the shit out of it and do what nobody else can or is willing to do even if it’s just for yourself. I write media applications just for myself because I have an iPhone and the iOS ecosystem is shit. Tonight I met a guy who is some wealthy corporate VP of corporate sales somewhere. He passion is metal working so he is teaching himself crude black smithing in his garage. I recommend getting that ECE degree because it will expand your capabilities. Also understand it’s not worth much unless you want to get a masters. I have met many ECE bachelor developers and most aren’t very good. I am self taught and can do things most of those guys can’t even imagine, so keep programming on your own.
