Vigilantism is fundamentally more equitable as it doesn't require giving one specific class of people the right to enforce the law, which they'll in turn abuse (i.e. the police): everyone has equal rights to enforce the law.
- mmooss 2y agoIt depends on power; there are no rights or law at all.
- Kbelicius 2y agoThis is nonsense. If you remove centralized administration for enforcing laws and allow everyone to enforce them for themselves you get a society in which one can only enforce the laws on those less powerful and thus you again get one specific class of people with the ability to enforce laws, which they'll in turn abuse (i.e. the rich and powerful) but only worse.
