Do any of us really care which of these mega-bureaucracies is to blame for each particular hurdle to receiving healthcare? From the patient’s perspective, they are all conspiring to gouge us, deny us care, and perpetuate their gold-plated monopolies. The constant factor is that the patient always loses. It’d be nice if we could have a political system where politicians represented their constituents, rather than their financial backers. But I fear that the culture war has made that very unlikely. It’ll get worse before it gets better.
