Why hasn't the bird flu pandemic started?
- smallerize 2y agoIt doesn't necessarily have to mutate that 226L by itself. Now that it has jumped to pigs, it could just mix with one of the human-adapted viruses that pigs sometimes catch.
- rolph 2y agoyou are refering to reassortment. this can lead to sudden aquisition of character, however, more commonly requires 'fine tuning' of the HA, and NA peptides toward favorable interactive dynamics.
