Scratch and Sniff Stickers and the Gas Panic of '87
- snapetom 2y agoInteresting story but “At least half a dozen false alarms” out of 300k isn’t a “deluge.” Sure, lots of money spent to answer the false alarms but who knows how many lives were saved through the campaign.
- nancyminusone 2y agoYou must not spend a lot of time reading Hackaday. Nothing against them, but little idiosyncrasies like this show up all the time.
- wsintra2022 2y agoScratch and sniff knickers and the arse panic more like!
- dreamcompiler 2y agoSome magazines went through this phase too. Texas Monthly produces some of the best journalism in the US, but I had to stop reading it in the late 90s because it contained scratch and sniff perfume ads that made the magazine smell like a bordello. Fortunately they seem to have stopped doing that.
