just is not meant as a built tool, just a task runner. Those have vastly different goals. make is a build system: it has targets, it has file deps, a dag resolver, etc. But a task runner is basically a fancy aliaser with task deps and arg parsing/proxing. And just is good at being that. Although I agree I not a fan of adding yet another DSL.
