Headlines like this are a bit tiresome, GenCast simply wouldn't exist without having been trained on output from the world-class system and if you want to forecast with GenCast it requires the world-class system to create the assimilation and first-guess (that's what usually takes up most of the time to prepare a forecast). So it does not beat the world-class system, it enhances it.
