Beef fat prevents alcoholic liver disease in the rat
- gnabgib 2y ago(1989) - maybe explains the weird phrasing?
- ricardobeat 2y agoYou mean the “… in the rat” part? Indeed that phrasing has fallen out of favor, though I didn’t notice it until reading this comment. We still say x causes inflamation in the liver instead of in livers, but also causes y in unhealthy livers… wonder if there’s a valid grammar rule for these.
- addicted 2y agoThe beef lobby’s really scraping the bottom of the barrel when they need to promote rat studies. Rat studies from 1989 that haven’t been replicated or substantiated in the many decades since.
- typeofhuman 2y agoHow can you tell they haven't been replicated? Is there a place to search for that kind of thing? I'm sincerely curious.
