The liberal ideal of Democracy is as an alternative to violence. When Democracy fails, you are expected to correct it with violence. The system doesnt work without this failsafe. I really dont understand where this civility at all costs idea came from. Shit yankistan was literally founded on this ideal. They venerate people like John Brown who got to the wetwork of abolition years before there was a civil war.
