Nothing would please me more than to see that, along with the so-called Lunar Gateway. SLS only exists as a tribute to the Alabama congressional delegation’s success at crushing NASA in-orbit refueling studies.
- Dalewyn 2y agoIt strikes me as hilarious that we want a space station flying around the Moon when we can't even contrive excuses to keep one flying here around Earth. All that money can be spent on much better things.
- ceejayoz 2y agoEh, ISS is old, creaky, leaking, and we share it with a geopolitical foe. It's due for a replacement just like a car of similar age would be. It's cheaper and faster to launch stuff now, and any lunar station would be substantially smaller than ISS. I'm a bit dubious about timelines for private space stations to replace it, but that's the plan.
