. . . what? The German nationalists believed that the Proto-Indo-European or Aryan race was Nordic, but not that it came from Germany. They sent archaeological expeditions into the Middle East looking for "confirmation" of their nonsense.

- psunavy03 2y agoInteresting; I'll have to go down that rabbit hole sometime. I wasn't familiar; only with the other Nazi pseudoscience where they tried to insist that "Aryans" were Nordic even though they were from the Indo-European urheimat.
- rsynnott 2y agoOh, yeah, this one was a bit earlier (though I think it kind of was adopted by the Nazis to some extent, too...)
