Just tried it for 15 minutes.
Impressions:
- Your website and your app looks neat, although I'm not a fan of "children colorbook" style.
- I like that you can vary difficulty level without having to "unlock" longer sentences.
- I hate that writting has to be perfect to the punctuation, esp since I do not always know how to write some punctuation marks or accent with my english keyboard (I went with learning spanish)
Fundamentally, I do not think it's that very different from duo-lingo though (that's just my first impression of course, but you might find it interresting anyway - maybe put upfront what really differenciate your app?)
Do you know about the "Language Transfer" app, which approach to language learning is also centered on listening (but in their case, listening to conversations with a teacher)?
Best of luck!
- vitro 2y agoHi, thanks for your feedback. We were considering making typing practice more forgiving, but in the end, you really need to be precise when writing in another language. But your point about the keyboard is a valid one. However, if you really plan taking on another language and you are serious about it, you get to have multiple keyboard layouts at one point anyway. Still, I understand your point and we'll see how we can improve this experience. Thank you for mentioning Language Transfer. With the way our app is designed, it is actually very easy to add new content and idea about audio lessons is a good one. What our strong points are is pausing the audio anytime, tapping and translating words and ease of exploring how one word can be used in different contexts and what forms it can take.
