Features are getting added, subjectively software as a whole is getting more reliable every year, and it's getting faster too, if you don't count new features with inherently high compute requirements, like AI. The state of software seems pretty nice right now.
It's getting harder to understand overall, but the individual layers that a dev works on are still manageable, we just have more division of labor and tolerance for using things without knowing what's under the hood.
It's less friendly to hackers and tinkerers, but still perfectly accessible to beginners doing things in the modern style, aside from the fact that there's less motivation when there's already an app for anything you can build yourself without months of work.
