I received a pre-exposure prophylaxis series and it was really no different than any other vaccine series I’ve had.
- _whiteCaps_ 2y agoPost-exposure is the uncomfortable one as you're getting the immune globulin where the bite was. But definitely better than the days when you were getting the rest of the series in the abdomen.
- SoftTalker 2y agoDo you work with animals? I'm curious why you or your doctor felt this was necessary.
- barbazoo 2y agoNot OP but it used to be recommended when travelling to certain parts of the world where it's common to have wild animals live in urban areas.

- el_benhameen 2y agoI was going to be traveling to some countries with significant issues with rabies. I did end up getting the post-exposure series after a suspected bite, although that may have been an overreaction on my part. Second round was also not memorably painful.
