There was not a week that went by without me having to unstick some team that had horribly managed to screw things up because of them or watch an engineer burn an entire day fighting with them or watch a new hire completely confused. If your system relies on everyone inherently having the same understanding of the world and behaving in the same way, then it's a terrible system.
