They dismissed it as being from earth based on "Population statistics", not determining them to be known earth microbes.
- tbrownaw 2y agoFrom clicking through to the study, that was counting the microbes over time, measuring the growth rate, and noticing that there would have been a lot more if they'd been there since the beginning.
