- StavrosK 14y agoIt's a Dylan Thomas reference: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Do_not_go_gentle_into_that_good_night http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Do_not_go_gentle_into_that_good...
- rickmb 14y agoI think most people get that reference (and I don't know shit about poetry). It just makes it all the more confusing and misplaced, so I'm guessing the one person that doesn't get it was the author...
- DanBC 14y agoYes. I thought they'd confirmed that ML killed some machines, not that some machines wouldn't be able to upgrade to ML.
- 3JPLW 14y agoLet me recommend a poem to you. Do not go gentle into that good night, by Dylan Thomas. Do not go gentle into that good night, Old age should burn and rave at close of day; Rage, rage against the dying of the light. Though wise men at their end know dark is right, Because their words had forked no lightning they Do not go gentle into that good night. Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay, Rage, rage against the dying of the light. Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight, And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way, Do not go gentle into that good night. Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay, Rage, rage against the dying of the light. And you, my father, there on the sad height, Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray. Do not go gentle into that good night. Rage, rage against the dying of the light. http://www.poetryfoundation.org/poem/175907 http://www.poetryfoundation.org/poem/175907 Edit: woops, late to the party. That's what I get for leaving a page up for 20 minutes before commenting...
- sp332 14y agoIt's confusing because the computers aren't actually dying, they're just being left behind.
