I had https://www.amazon.se/-/en/M-Ben-Ari/dp/032131283X https://www.amazon.se/-/en/M-Ben-Ari/dp/032131283X > Fortunately I never had to use "dining philosophers" I think that was set up as a problem, not the solution, to demonstrate that you can't just take take/release locks and call it a day. (I guess the modern equivalent would be 'synchronized' methods).

That's right. It's the set up for the discussion of semaphores etc. Did bump into this [0] once though in the context of multi-user communications. Also I just heard that "eskimo" is erm.. not cool.
