Algorithmic feeds are useful. Algorithmic feeds that promote primarily people who pay the platform, downrank links, and are likely manipulated for political reasons are far less desirable. On X it meant that I was discovering far less quality content because many intelligent and interesting people didn't want to pay for the platform, often due to Musks's behavior. BlueSky's algorithmic feeds are less good so far, but they're far more neutral and there's more transparency into how they work. Over time people have the ability to create new types of algorithmic feeds.
