- jarjoura 2y agoThis is the right answer, sadly. I had moved over to Mastodon and already people are using it to raise pitchforks. I just don't think our human brains deserve the power that comes with social media.
- grahamj 2y agoThere are only three ways to avoid being in an echo chamber: - Use a system that allows you to choose your sources and choose to follow a diverse set of content - Use a system that does not allow such choice and trust that its algorithm supplies a diverse set of content - Don't use social media I happen to choose the last one, but between the other two I believe user choice is more important. Musk has put his right wing thumb firmly on X's scale so that rules it out imo. Anywhere that respects your choices is only an echo chamber if you make it one.
- racl101 2y agoTwitter was cool about a couple of years. I haven't tweeted since like 2012. I'm not in a hurry to jump on Blue Sky.
- jarjoura 2y agoBest Twitter, was when it was just tweets of "eating cereal for breakfast" and the pull-to-refresh-ification of everything.
