Ask HN: How did you make your first $1k online?

This month, I crossed the $100 mark in earnings as a web developer on Upwork, and I now have my eyes set on crossing $1,000. I know it won’t be easy, but nothing good comes easy. Also, already have a personal blog with hopes of growing a fanbase that might leave donations. I’d love to hear from others—what strategies, platforms, or approaches helped you reach your first $1,000 online? Any tips or lessons learned along the way?
