Is it really a "driver shortage" or "we don't want to pay drivers a living wage or allow them to have dignity and oops no one wants to be a driver for some reason" like in the US?
- PaulHoule 2y agoIs it the pay or the organization of the work? Can you pay people enough for the hassle of not sleeping in your own bed most weeks? Or can you organize a system where trucks are driven in shifts but face delays changing drivers?
- Arnt 2y agoPretend you're 17 and are deciding on a career. Ignore this year's wages. What do you think about the prospects for drivers in the next forty years?
- PaulHoule 2y agoI know somebody in a similar situation who has pondered getting a C.D.L. because many the older blue collar people who he knows has one but decided against it because everyone he knows who drives a truck is fat.
