I'm also an EU citizen and I very much like to see SkyNet happen. Joke aside, these regulations, however "common sense" they look like, it will make the EU lag behind every other country when the genie comes out of the bottle. So instead of being at the forefront of AI, or close, the EU will be in the last place.
