Think about a something like TripIt - it works by accepting forwarded emails from different travel reservation sites, but that means somebody has to write hundreds of custom email parsers for those sites and then update them on a continuous basis. This is prohibitively expensive and frustrating and difficult to do. ... and then Shields came along and did exactly that by making it open source and using open source development processes to maintain those integrations with the help of hundreds of collaborators: https://github.com/badges/shields/tree/master/services https://github.com/badges/shields/tree/master/services I've been keeping an eye out for similar shapes of project ever since I noticed this. It feels like there's a lot of potential here.
