- wyager 2y agoBluesky is not decentralized; they have tons of centralized infrastructure, including all the identity management stuff.
- verdverm 2y agoA PDS can refuse to host someone's data, an App View can refuse to serve content or specific users. But, being decentralized, they cannot "remove them from the platform" depending on how we define this phrase Being removed by Bluesky can certainly happen, in the sense that most people who are unaware ATProto is different from what came before, think about these things. I too would like to see such claims backed up. Too many flags being planted to stake out ideological territory...
- davexunit 2y agoWhile I definitely don't agree with the GP here, Bluesky is not decentralized in any meaningful way, but they aspire to having a "credible exit" if Bluesky the company falls into the wrong hands. https://bsky.app/profile/dustyweb.bsky.social/post/3lbkecsk34k24 https://bsky.app/profile/dustyweb.bsky.social/post/3lbkecsk3...
