What the Broligarchs Want from Trump
- BMc2020 2y agohttps://archive.ph/mg0l8 https://archive.ph/mg0l8 Cryptocurrency is the financial engine of the broligarchs’ political project. For centuries, states have been defined by two monopolies: first, on the legitimate use of coercive force (as by the military and the police); and second, on control of the money supply. Today’s broligarchs have long sought to weaken government control of global finance.
- Terr_ 2y agoI imagine this will reveal whether some of his supporters were really railing against "the bankers" and "big banks", or whether that was a euphemism.
- ttyprintk 2y agoSoros was a funder on some of Trump’s projects in the 2000s and donated $160,000 to his 2016 campaign. The elevation of Bessent as Treasury Secretary is not a different trend.

- hindsightbias 2y agothese people think too small. We need FDIC Insurance for crypto.
- JohnFen 2y agoFDIC (or any) insurance would necessarily come with increased regulation. I thought the whole appeal of cryptocurrency was as a tool to avoid regulation.
