Response from Microsoft and Asobo on Flight Simulator 2024 issues [video]
- nativeit 2y agoI haven’t experienced any server issues, although I purchased it a few days after its launch. I have encountered a number of other problems, however. I cannot use the backspace key in text fields in the EFB, because it still triggers the camera view switching. The NAV systems are very glitchy, and frequently miss waypoints. The clouds look like cotton balls in a child’s diorama. Thrustmaster Hotas flight sticks have no preset mapping, are not fully recognized in the menus, and flat out don’t function properly even when manually mapped. This title should have been delayed, but then I guess there’s not much time left in 2024 at this point. I feel sorry for the devs, there is a lot of exciting potential getting washed out by painfully obvious failures.
- nodesocket 2y agoThey claim the caching layer was failing. I suspect they are likely using an inferior Microsoft proprietary cache running on Windows, instead of the tried-and-true Redis on Linux. Pure speculation on my part though.
