Politics Trump AG pick Matt Gaetz says he's withdrawing
- Bostonian 2y agoGood. Some people enthusiastically voted for Trump, but others, whose votes put him over the top, did so reluctantly, hoping that the other branches of government would be guard rails. Polymarket indicated a few days ago that Gaetz had only about a 20% chance of being confirmed by the Senate.
- yawpitch 2y ago> hoping that the other branches of government would be guard rails So you’re saying he got elected by short-sighted idiots with no clue what they were setting loose?
- coding123 2y agobut the guard rails... worked?
- jfengel 2y agoWe're still getting multiple quacks put in charge of government science agencies. They're not withdrawing because the "guard rails" show no sign of working. It took a literal pedophile to trigger the guard rails.
- yawpitch 2y agoIt took a literal felon, friend of pedophiles, and fan of fascists to dismantle them, so shouldn’t come as much of a surprise.
