That's bizarre! What a self-defeating decision. It's ironic that ~20 years ago (so, pre-YouTube) by far the best place to see all the trailers for all the current movies was www.apple.com/movies (or something like that): they aggregated everything, on servers that could handle streaming video. I couldn't really see what was in it for them (there weren't any ads, as I recall), but it was the place my friends and I went to figure out what to go see that weekend, and it was great.
