TypeScript doesn't follow semver due to marketing reasons
- chrcit 2y agoI recently found out that Typescript doesn't follow semver correctly and introduces breaking changes in minors. There is this super old discussion which explains the reasoning behind it being practicality and marketing.
- eyelidlessness 2y agoThey don’t follow it incorrectly either. They just monotonically increase the decimal version for every non-patch release. They do tend to consolidate more disruptive changes to .0 and .5 though.
