Is This the End for X?
- mgraybosch 2y agoI won’t believe that Twitter is dead until twitter.com and x.com cease to resolve over DNS. Until that happens, there’s no point in celebrating the platform’s demise.

- chiefalchemist 2y ago> Hundreds of thousands of people have quit the former Twitter since Donald Trump’s election victory on 6 November. Even as an option piece, a reference should be given. Otherwise, this is just another piece to file under: We, The Media, Hate Elon and We're Shameless About It.
- ddxv 2y agoI scrape my own app stats, X gets like 350k NEW installs a day on Google Play. BlueSky has ranged from 10k - 100k a day, but averages closer to 10k. The growth trajectories are very different. X increased a lot in the past few months. https://appgoblin.info/apps/com.twitter.android https://appgoblin.info/apps/com.twitter.android https://appgoblin.info/apps/xyz.blueskyweb.app https://appgoblin.info/apps/xyz.blueskyweb.app
- smy20011 2y agoThen why BlueSky is #1 free apps while twitter is not?
- ddxv 2y agoI've been watching that too. I would guess the top spots are not purely installs per day. Likely that would make them less dynamic. I guess Apple and Google include other metrics like velocity, ratings etc to decide top ranks.
- 3cats-in-a-coat 2y agoIs it possible your process counts updates as installs?
- ddxv 2y agoSorry, didn't see your question. No, my process is just the values reported by the Google Play Store API. Queried often enough to estimate the change weekly. Why did you wonder if it's update sinstead?
