This article makes a good point about sites using passkeys alongside passwords, which basically renders them useless. But after that, it starts to read like AI slop.
The article also doesn't discuss how Google and Apple have decided to weaponize passkeys for their vendor lock-in wars. Google and Apple can fuck right off. How many stories have been posted here on HN about someone getting locked out of all their Google services for some stupid reason with zero recourse? Never put any of your eggs in that kind of basket. (And yes, I know there are alternatives. But normal users will never know about those.)
