I think this is a silly attribute of our western societies in general. Disallowing physical violence in response to emotional violence is hypocritical. The latter can be way worse, yet the former serves as a straightforward remedy. I believe in the “talk shit, get hit” sentiment. It’s easy to spot people who have never been hit in their entire life.
