Gosh, you are one of these designers who think of themselves higher than those "non creative people":
"We would write those ideas the “non-creative” people gave us on a white board [...] That list was called “The obvious list”"
- heartbreak 14y ago"...so obvious that even an accountant could come up with." Very condescending.
- aarondf 14y agoAs an accountant, I fully agree.
- jklp 14y agoIt might just be a language barrier, but in advertising / marketing (and most design related companies) there's a job title called a Creative, which is someone who does the art / design work, as opposed to account management, finance, etc. He might just be referring to people who aren't Creatives in their job title
- dylanpyle 14y agoI fully expected this tale to continue on to a grand realization that believe it or not, 'non-creatives' can have good ideas. The message is still sensible, but I left underwhelmed, and a little offended. Are programmers also on the "obvious list"?
- daeken 14y agoThat, to me, is the sign of an insecure, ineffective mind. If you're not comfortable enough to take good ideas when they're in front of you -- regardless of where they come from -- then you're clearly putting your ego in front of your work, rather than the other way around.
