Show HN: Pornwitch.com – Category-Based Porn Search

3 points by pornwitch 2y ago

Hey HN, We’ve launched a new porn search site built with Next.js and Elasticsearch. The main problem we’re tackling is how most adult sites struggle to handle complex searches with multiple categories. On PornWitch, you can mix and match as many categories as you want, and the results will always match all your selected filters. Right now, we’re pulling results from Pornhub, XHamster, XVideos, and Eporner, with plans to add more sources soon. Check it out and let us know what you think! We’re open to any feedback, feature requests, or ideas. If it fits with what we’re aiming for, there’s a good chance it’ll be added.

Porn's a lot like wine. Once you have a couple glasses it all starts to taste the same.

Fails with https://pornwitch.com/search?query=Skinny%20freckled%20ginger%20forest%20nymph%20perky%20tits%20puffy%20nipples https://pornwitch.com/search?query=Skinny%20freckled%20ginge... Besides that it doesn't look that different from xvideos.com / xhamster.com itself? Also lacks the option to filter eons old low resolution classic crap. I can haz 720p+ pleaz, at leazt? I'm also wondering how you intend to manage the tagging into categories without human curation, given the infinite reuploads of the same file, with different tags, which have nothing to do with the content at all, they are just clickbait.

  1. Note there are 2 types of searches: category search and free text search. The free text search, the one you used here, is very basic right now. Here is how you’d search your query with categories: https://pornwitch.com/search?tags=female:red-hair,female:skinny,female:perky-tits,female:puffy-nipples https://pornwitch.com/search?tags=female:red-hair,female:ski... There’s no category yet for “forest nymph” and “freckled” but we’ll make sure to add it. Your impressive category combination returns no video results, so you can experiment with using less categories or different ones. 2. For filtering out low resolution video you should have a small button on the top right of the search page that allows you to filter out low resolution videos. 3. You’re right, there are a lot of videos on the web with poor tagging. From our experience, it often occurs in unpopular low view videos. The default sorting for videos is “Hottest”, which sorts the video by a rank we calculate. This should in most cases push the low view clickbait videos to the very bottom of the search result list.

Oh. That button wasn't there initially. Needed some clickery to appear. Now I'm really curious if I'll ever be annoyed by Futa in spite of having clicked straight? We'll see, or not. I'm mostly using porn-sites to check my ad-/script-blocking only.

Nice find, Futa should probably not appear for Straight, we'll take care of this in the next site update. Thanks for the feedback.

I happen to know there's intense debate about that in some corners of the internet.

I happen to know that I feel like I'd really like to whiplash every single intentional mislabeler with a thick and heavy, yard-long GUMMISCHWANZ made of silicone. I mean, they can have their fun. Just don't bother ppl with it, who are bothered by that, k?

Very cool. One request: A 4K filter I take my porn quite seriously, and will purchase/watch excellently or interestingly shot porn. It annoys me to no end that this topic draws teenaged giggles on HN. I suppose you’re limited to what is available in the scene tagging on source sites. I like porn searches that are action-based, videograohy style (I filter out fish eye lenese of POV), colours. (I’m just having my first coffee of the day and am struggling with coherency.) A true porn meta search would be AMAZING. The porn industry has a history of not playing fair, which you could take advantage of. Scrape all the pay sites (which is where the quality is) and clip sites Clips4Sale, plus performer databases like Indexx and IAFD. After the initial irritation, I think many porn site owners would actually like it as a source of traffic.

Thank you for your feedback! We've added 4K to the quality filter and are working on introducing premium content with a free or paid filter. Our lists of categories and performers will be improved continuously, and a feature to filter out specific categories is on the way.
