Codeium launches Windsurf – the first agentic IDE
- fortenforge 2y agoOne of the cooler features in Windsurf is Cascade, sort of an agent powered by an LLM that you can talk to and can make changes to your codebase. Here's an example of me using Cascade to solve a CTF challenge: https://youtu.be/LbYepFmVB20 https://youtu.be/LbYepFmVB20

- imp0cat 2y agoIt's right there: https://codeium.com/windsurf#why-did-you-build-your-own-ide-and-why-did-you-fork-vs-code https://codeium.com/windsurf#why-did-you-build-your-own-ide-... Oh and they are know. :) We are fully aware of the memes about people forking VS Code to create “AI IDEs,”

- vrs347 2y agoCreated a twitter scrape. Allowed me to scrape twitter's tweets for any specific user. Gave me breakdown on 24hr tweets, most recent tweets, and specific keywords I looked up. I then asked it to make me a GUI for these tweets I was seeing. Total time: 25 minutes. Customer Obtained?: Yes. For life.
- jameshiew 2y agoVery cool, hopefully VS Code eventually builds in native support for whatever functionality is missing that is part of the reason for these forks.
- TiredOfLife 2y agoThey have, its proprietary for GitHub Copilot. https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=41907350 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=41907350
- mjwweb44 2y agoHas anyone used this on a larger codebase yet? I'm curious to see how it handles larger contexts.
